That Golden Hour | Outfit of the Day

Vancouver autumn outfit

A morning spent snowboarding followed by  stroll through the city in the afternoon, a weekend doesn’t get much better than that. I am so excited (and very impressed) by Cyress’s efforts to open so early. There hasn’t been any real snow fall this year but the resort managed to have 2 runs and 2 chairs open. It might have all been manmade snow but that didn’t make it any less fun.

Being the first day back on the slopes my legs decided to feel like they were made of lead by about 1pm so we called it a day.

After a change of clothes and a cup of tea we had to make the most of the perfectly clear skies and sunshine, so we headed for a stroll through the west end. The chill of winter is here now, that crisp air that carries the smell of cooking food so far, and the wind that picks up all the now brown leaves and tosses them around. I love it.

Yes its about 5

°c and no I don’t have a coat on… because its all about the layers! 2 pairs of stockings, a singlet and the magical base layer from Icebreaker that I wear under everything pretty much all winter! And of course that huge snuggly scarf.

Why does everyone think that outfit repeating is such a bad thing?! If something works then roll with it. We aren’t all able to pour thousands of dollars a month into an endless wardrobe. And even if money wasn’t of concern, there are far better things you can spend those dollars on than making sure you never repeat an outfit. Quality over quantity has been the mantra preached by many a fashion blogger over the last year, yet still those same people flaunt photos of their overflowing wardrobes. What do you think, Is repeating an outfit on a fashion blog a faux pas? Or do you love to see the same pieces with a new twist?
